#MeToo | Dina Oganova

Public awareness concerning domestic violence and sexual harassment in Georgia is exceedingly low. Dina Oganova believes that shame caused by our own thoughts, as well as those of the victims themselves, might be the reason behind society’s difficulty in understanding the colossal problem and threat we are confronted with. Oganova, faced with collective silence in her country, decided to raise awareness to the important issue through her works, by accompanying the victims as they recount their story; bringing her to the places where it happened, and showing her the clothes they were wearing at the time. Oganova’s protagonists’ faces are hidden in order to protect them, while the artist herself is ready to show her face and discuss the issue, shamelessly.
