The First International Photography Marathon from PHOTO IS:RAEL and Chutzpah Center

Hundreds of photographers from 37 different countries participated in the international photomarathon that took place on February 2020, the theme of which was “Chaos”. This theme was selected because chaos represents opportunity, a way of contending with the uncertainty and ambiguity of a time and a world that is constantly changing.

Participants were invited to embrace the chaos of our times and think of it as an engine for innovative, independent creation, a path to the re-examination of our basic assumptions and an avenue for creating work which embodies flexibility, inventiveness, ingenuity and personal and professional development. Photographers received six challenges which they completed within 24 hours, wherever they were around the world: *Embrace uncertainty; *Dare to fail; *Challenge the obvious in an age of digital transformation; *Ask questions; *Collaborate; *Make it happen.

We are proud to present the 20 outstanding marathon photographers who did indeed make it happen.
Thank you to our marathon partners: Chutzpah Center and Inbal Arieli in particular, Fiverr, Canon, Daylight, the Peres Center for Peace and Innovation, GUP Magazine, Degorla, London Street Photography Festival, Barcú Festival in Colombia and PHmuseum.
