When Time is Something | Michael Kaufmann

The world of matter is a subject in time’s dictatorship. We can stand still in space but we must keep on moving in time. Light is the thread that connects the temporal dimension to the material: this is called “photography.” The other famous attempt to tether time is called a “clock.” In the featured photographs, Michael Kaufmann explores the poetic relationship between time, light, and space with closeup photographs of the clock’s mechanism.
