ABOUT

PHOTO IS:RAEL is happy to launch the 4th Meitar Award for Excellence in Photography 2019.

The Meitar Award for Excellence in photography, a collaboration between PHOTO IS:RAEL and the Zvi and Ofra Meitar Family Fund, will be awarded for the fourth time this year for a body of work that demonstrates excellence in the field of photography.
An independent jury will select 20 finalists who will be showcased in a group exhibition at the International Photography Festival in November 2019 in Tel-Aviv. Following the festival in Tel-Aviv, the finalists’ exhibition will travel to another festival in the world.

All works will be judged anonymously based on their originality and quality.
The jury will choose the body of work that in their opinion has the potential to form a part of an upcoming solo exhibition.

 The award winner will be announced in November during the festival and will receive a $14,000 grant, composed of a personal grant of $2,500 and production of a solo exhibition that will be part of the 2020 International Photography Festival.

SHORT LIST

An independent jury will select 20 photographers for the shortlist. These photographers will be showcased in a group exhibition at the International Photography Festival in November 2019 in Tel Aviv . All works will be judged anonymously based on their originality and quality.

THE WINNER

The jury will choose the winner who submitted a body of work which in their opinion has the potential to form a part of an upcoming solo exhibition. The winner will receive a grant of $14,000, as well as a solo exhibition at the International  Photography Festival in Tel Aviv ,2020. The grant includes prize money of $2,500, a yearlong cooperation with a professional curator and the production of a solo exhibition at the 2020 International Photography Festival.
